Frequently asked questions.

How does MessagePilot read my SMS?
MessagePilot uses Apple's official Shortcuts automation framework. When an SMS arrives, the iOS Shortcut triggers our app's secure AppIntent which then forwards the message to your destinations. No background process running 24/7, no permissions to read messages directly.
Do you store my SMS content?
No. SMS content passes through our forwarding server only momentarily to deliver to your destinations - it is not stored. We log only metadata (timestamps, success/failure status) for usage statistics, and only your specific device sees these logs.
Will it work when my phone is locked?
Yes. The iOS Shortcuts automation runs even when the phone is locked. As long as your phone has internet connectivity, SMS will be forwarded.
Can I filter which SMS get forwarded?
Yes. Create rules with content matching ("contains keyword", "starts with", regex), and combine multiple conditions with AND/OR logic. Only matching messages will be forwarded.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → MessagePilot → Cancel. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current period.
Is there an Android version?
An Android version is in development with native SMS receiver support. Sign up for the waitlist by emailing messagepilot@whis33.com.
Why was my SMS not forwarded?
Common reasons: (1) the iOS Shortcut isn't enabled in Shortcuts app → Automation, (2) you have a filter rule that didn't match the message, (3) you've reached your monthly forward limit on the Free plan. Open the app to check your rules and recent activity.
